The following message was sent to all members of staff at the University of Oxford from Professor Ian Walmsley, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) on Tuesday 1 November 2016:
Open Access – reminder to Act on Acceptance
Dear Colleagues
I write to remind all academic and research colleagues that when you have a journal article or conference paper accepted for publication, please put your Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM) into the Oxford Research Archive via Sympletic. ‘Act on Acceptance’, no later than three months after a paper is accepted, is mandated by HEFCE and is part of University policy.
My thanks to the many colleagues who have deposited at least one paper since April 2016, when the new HEFCE open access policy for the next REF took effect.
Oxford’s AAM deposit target is 1,000 per month. We are hearing from around 50% of Oxford authors only.
Act on Acceptance is quick and easy. All you need are the date of acceptance and the manuscript. Details of what to deposit and how can be found on the Open Access Oxford website at http://openaccess.ox.ac.uk.
